Privacy Policy

This policy explains how 304 Holdings LLC, a limited liability company registered in New Mexico, United States, trading as TrailSentinel ("we", "us", "our"), collects, uses, stores and discloses your personal information when you visit trailsentinel.com or buy from us. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).

1. What we collect

• When you order: your name, delivery and billing address, email address, phone number, and the details of what you bought.
• Payment: your payment is processed by Shopify (cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Shop Pay) or by PayPal, depending on the method you choose. We receive confirmation of payment and the last four digits of your card. We never see or store your full card number.
• When you contact us: the content of your emails, order numbers, and any photos or videos you send us for a support or warranty request.
• When you browse: technical information sent by your device, such as your IP address, browser and operating system, the pages you view, and cookie data (see section 6).
• Marketing: your email address if you subscribe to our newsletter or tick the marketing box at checkout.

2. What we do not collect

The photos and videos your camera takes are sent to your phone through the camera app provider's service, or stored on the camera's memory card. We do not receive them, unless you choose to email them to us for support. The app provider has its own privacy policy. We do not collect sensitive information such as health or financial details beyond what is needed to process a payment.

3. How we use your information

• To process and deliver your order, and to set up and test your camera before it ships.
• To answer your questions, provide setup help, and handle returns, Signal Guarantee and warranty claims.
• To send you order confirmations, tracking links and other messages about your order.
• To send you marketing emails about our products, only if you have agreed to receive them. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.
• To run, secure and improve the site, prevent fraud, and understand how the site is used.
• To meet our legal obligations, including tax and consumer-law record keeping.

4. Who we share it with

We share personal information only where needed to run our business:

• Shopify Inc., which hosts the site and stores our customer and order data on secure servers, and processes payments. See Shopify's privacy policy at shopify.com/legal/privacy.
• PayPal, if you choose to pay with PayPal, under PayPal's own privacy statement.
• Fulfilment partners and carriers, who receive your name, delivery address, phone number and the contents of your order in order to pack, ship and deliver it.
• Service providers for email, customer support, marketing and analytics, who only use your information to provide their service to us.
• Advertising platforms such as Google and Meta, which may receive cookie-based information about your visit to show you relevant ads (see section 6).
• Authorities, where the law requires it, and a buyer of our business if the business is sold, in which case your information transfers with it.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Overseas disclosure

We are a business registered in the United States, so the personal information we collect is held by us there. Some of the providers above are also located, or store data, outside Australia, including in Canada and the United States (Shopify and payment providers), in China (our fulfilment partners, who receive delivery details only), and in the countries where our email and analytics providers operate. Where we disclose personal information overseas we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled in a way consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.

6. Cookies

Cookies are small files placed on your device. We use:

• Essential cookies set by Shopify to make the store work: _shopify_y and _shopify_s (session and visitor identifiers), cart and cart_sig (your shopping cart), _secure_session_id (secure checkout session), storefront_digest (access to a password-protected store), and localization (your country and currency).
• Analytics cookies that tell us how the site is used, so we can improve it.
• Advertising cookies from platforms such as Google and Meta, which measure our advertising and may show you our ads on other sites.

You can manage or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop the checkout from working. You can opt out of personalised ads through the settings of the advertising platforms and, for Shopify's data, at privacy.shopify.com.

7. How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as needed to provide support, honour our 24-month warranty and meet legal record-keeping obligations. Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe. Support emails are kept while they may be needed for your order or claim. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed.

8. Security

Your data is stored on Shopify's secure, PCI-DSS compliant infrastructure and transmitted over encrypted (SSL/TLS) connections. We limit access to the people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, and we would notify you and the regulator of any eligible data breach as required by law.

9. Access, correction and complaints

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw your consent to marketing, by emailing support@trailsentinel.com. We may need to verify your identity first. We respond within 30 days.

If you have a complaint about how we have handled your personal information, email us and we will investigate and reply in writing. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

10. Children

The site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Third-party sites

Links on our site may take you to other websites, including the camera app provider, mobile carriers and payment providers. Their privacy policies apply once you leave our site.

12. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with the "Last updated" date at the top.
