If a phone shows one bar or more of 4G where the camera will stand, a 4G camera with that network's SIM will usually work there too. If it doesn't, the Signal Guarantee gives you a full refund with return postage paid.

No. Both our cameras are 4G: each runs on its own battery, kept charged by a solar panel, and sends photos over the mobile network. There is nothing to plug in, so they suit gates, sheds, tanks and paddocks where there is no power.

Not with us. Each camera needs a SIM card with some data, which usually costs $10 to $15 a month on prepaid. See the SIM and data guide.

Yes. You put in a prepaid SIM, pair the camera with the app, strap it up and walk past it. If you get stuck, email us and we set it up with you on a call. How setup works.

Both our cameras send their photos to your phone over 4G and run on solar. Take the Ranger for a gate, a shed, a trough or a game trail with coverage: it costs less, has removable batteries and two-way audio. Take the Ranger GPS if you run cameras across a big property or want 4MP video and a wider sensor. If there is no mobile coverage at your spot, neither camera will send photos from there: email us and we will tell you straight.

Each camera sends the photo to the app on your phone over the mobile network. The Ranger also keeps a copy on a microSD card in the camera (card sold separately).

It depends on how busy the spot is. With its panel in open sun, the camera charges between triggers, so a quiet gate needs few visits. A busy spot or a shady winter position uses more than the panel puts back, and you may need to recharge the battery now and then. We explain the limits on the what a camera won't do page.

Sometimes. It depends on distance, speed, angle and light: your chances are best by day, close up, with the vehicle slowing down. Mount the camera where vehicles slow down, such as at a gate or a grid, and at a slight angle to the road.

The cameras are built to live outside year-round. Keep the housing closed and latched, and give it shade on the western side if you can.
